Ask Bryon Scott, "As coaches, when we scout Portland, we kind of put him in the same category of Kobe (Bryant), LeBron (James), Dwyane Wade," Scott said. "We treat him the same. He's that good.

John Hollinger has the Blazers rated as the 4th best team in the league, and he is clearly their best player.  Maybe Byron Scott is losing it, or maybe he is just ahead of the curve.

I disagree.  Roy has yet to win big games like those other two have.  What about Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, and Dwayne Wade?

What exactly from my post do you disagree with?  That they are the 4th best team in the league, that Roy is Portland's best player, that Byron Scott is losing it, or that maybe Byron Scott is ahead of the curve?

Maybe a look at PER...

Hollinger Stats: Player Efficiency Rating - Shooting Guard
RNK Player  PER

3 Vince Carter,  23.59
4 Brandon Roy,  23.28
5 Joe Johnson,  20.10
6 Kevin Martin,  18.84
7 Ben Gordon,  18.16
8 Ray Allen,  18.11
9 O.J. Mayo,  18.02
10 Tracy McGrady,  17.78

Or Tendex ratings...
  1) wade,dwyane    30.21
  2) carter,vince    22.77
  3) bryant,kobe    22.41
  4) johnson,joe     21.48
  5) roy,brandon    21.37
  6) mayo,o.j.    17.88
  7) allen,ray     17.22
  8) salmons,john   17.12
  9) gordon,ben   16.97
 10) crawford,jamal  16.30

Maybe Roland ratings (SG bolded)...

 1) MIA  Wade +23.5
 2) CLE  James +21.3
 3) NOH  Paul  +20.8
 4) UTA  Kirilenko +17.8
 5) PHO  Stoudemire  +15.1
 6) LAL  Bryant  +15.0
 7) TOR  Bosh +14.6
 8) DAL  Nowitzki +13.9
 9) BOS  R.Allen  +11.5
10) IND  Granger  +10.6
11) NJN  Harris  +10.6
12) POR  Roy  +10.4

These would all indicate that Roy does deserve to be included in that group.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

Well most of them have been in the league a lot longer...Roy is in his 3rd year and has 'won' as many playoff series as Tracy McGrady

Byron Scott said they put him in the same category and that isn't out of line.

Brandon Roy is up there in rare company in terms of versatility.  You're talking a 20 point scorer who is a threat all the way out to the arch who also happens to be the team's best passer, a pit bull defender, and isn't prone to making mistakes.  I think when you face the Blazers, disrupting what Brandon Roy does is priority #1 if you want to beat them.
"But guys like us, we don't pay attention to the polls. We know that polls are just a collection of statistics that reflect what people are thinking in 'reality'. And reality has a well-known liberal bias."

Does anyone on this board agree with Ziggy he belongs in the same breathe with Kobe Bryant and Lebron James?

OK WK, you don't like Brandon Roy, we get it.

But like the long lost Randy you seem to be afflicted with, "I going to make things up and then argue them as statements of fact", so please show me where exactly it is that I said that.

It's not that I don't like him.  It's that I don't consider him on the same level as Lebron James and Kobe Bryant.  Just that simple.  When a big game is on the line or I need a player to take over the game for me I am not going to include Brandon Roy in the list of the 2 best players in the league.

Did you not say that Byron Scott is not crazy to say that?

I have no idea what that means, too many double negatives.

1) Saying he's not in the same category as LeBron and Kobe isn't "not liking" someone.
2) Byron Scott said that he's in the same category as LeBron and Kobe.  You said "maybe Byron Scott's ahead of the curve" in reference to this statement.  Ergo, you're arguing (or at least supporting) that Roy is in the same category as LeBron and Kobe.

I can't see how wk is out of line on this one.

I also said that "maybe Byron Scott is losing it", so it seems to me that I didn't take a position one way or the other.  Derek if you can't see that, then maybe you are not as smart as I give you credit for.  I took this post as an attempt to get into a pissing match, and I had no interest in getting into a pissing match.  So I just threw a bunch of stuff out there, and left it that.

As far as point #1, so what only westkoast is able to blow off someones point with a similar post?  Let me know if there are any other rules I need to be aware of.
